Saudi company (so very random management practices) run by French chief pilot (with outrageously thick accent)... so imagine the challenges. Not a bad company, but expect to be bottom of the food chain for a while until you gain respect. Can expect a good bit of off-site time, no set schedule ever, and things never making sense. If you're a super flexible person who doesn't get frustrated by changes and people doing things that make absolutely zero sense you will probably be fine. New aircraft and Saudi is a very different experience than other middle eastern countries. Very friendly people when away from the cities, but not completely tourist friendly either (no dual language anything outside of big cities and specific tourist sites). People are nice in the city; they're just typical big city people. Riyadh and Jeddah are expensive cities where you can find any western food or creature comforts. Name most big chain US restaurants and you'll find them there (just explore google maps). Can be very frustrating to live/work there if the company doesn't assist you with getting housing, vehicle, etc. Not sure if they assist expats very well as they're focused on Saudi employees mostly. As an expat expect to be given the burden of work. They're smart enough to do it mostly but the will is not always there. Some are super professional and understand/enforce high standards. Would do it if single and/or you have a very adventurous wife, otherwise, beware a lot of frustrations. Unlike anything you've dealt with in the states.

They did about a year ago. There were 2 at the time; a US girl and US guy (not related). There was also an Aussie/NZ/SouthAfrican girl as well (they're starting to train Saudi women to fly so they're one of the first "progressive" companies to do so). Only need FAA COM or ATP (and CFI if instructing obviously). They have new A-Stars, H145s, AW139s and are standing up HAA. Mostly light utility, instruction, and SAR/HAA in the NW with the 139, and VIP/tours work. Expect to be based in Riyadh but do rotations to the futuristic city up in the NW or at other construction sites around the country. Slightly old news, but that's what was going on a year ago. Riyadh's a pretty westerner friendly city. Can be a very fun experience if it pays well. Wouldn't do it if it didn't pay extremely well, though. Fun place but not THAT fun. Sometimes it's the most mind-boggling insanely dumb rules, completely waste your time kind of place... gotta be patient and flexible and money can make those qualities easy for some but others just can't do it.

At Aramco as a contractor pilot you never know when that paycheck is coming, could be up to 2 months + late.  Also at Aramco aka Mukamalah Aviation you are a prisoner on a tiny compound in the middle of nowhere with no transportation and treated as a POW compared to the employees.

Check yourself about using that word: https://youtu.be/D0UbVcKal3I Also, being paid somewhere between $150-200K (up to $180K is tax-free now I think) and just doing your job as a professional would not be considered a slave so using such derogatory language would not even be applicable. Some contracts provide housing and vehicle as well. Got paid VERY well over there and never had to do any menial work. You're hired as an expert via their business visa (i.e., you bring a professional skill/education to the table) and they treat you as such. I was treated more like an airline pilot than a helicopter guy in the US and was given first rate everything. Granted, I have heard you're not treated quite that nice if you fly for Aramco. For real, though: using that kind of language is only sending our country backward whether you use that word if you're white OR black.
