Anyone moved to Canada lately? What would it take for a USA certified 7000hr ATP helicopter pilot to work there. Would I have to go and get a Canadian license or do companies hire US pilots?
Attempt at humor to follow.....
(I'm not moving because of the political situation, girlfriend may have a job offer up there.) |

Go here. Lyle is the best. You go trough the conversion training and they set up everything including you check ride with transport Canada. Takes about 10 days. But then you need to get immigration sponsor to work. All easily done!
And, your welcome |

You don't even have to do any checkride. The FAA to Canadian CPL is a simple written test and medical exam.... |

In the old days, before the death of common sense, it required a Canadian commercial written, a medical and a flight check akin to class of helicopter you where going to fly in Canada. in those days a Canadian Pilot could come down here (USA) and be given an American FAA license equivalent to his Canadian ratings over the counter similar to the manner the FAA granted license to Military pilots based on experience. |

The problem is not the license conversion or the plethora of type ratings all the way down to R-22s. The problem is the work visa issue. If you've already solved the work visa problem, the rest is a cake walk.
