A lot of drama from the OPEIU organizer and his push to get the Check Pilots in to local 108, which makes no sense and gives control of the group to people who aren't check pilots but even worse don't work for the same employer. There is no benefit to that except money. That's absurd and clearly all about money for OPEIU. Seems like OPEIU and someone on the organizing team is conspiring for their personal gain or has an axe to grind, maybe both. But, we get 2 different stories on what happened and who's at fault. whats the truth because we have to decide to be 109 or 108 or maybe not a union at all at this point. I say 109 is the only choice and people need to check their egos and worry more about the people than the money. Then again, it's a union and even worse it's OPEIU. Care to disclose? |

When you look at Local 108's list of LM3 reports, not a single Careflite +0/-2

Yet, if it weren't for Careflite pilot's union, Local 108 would have next to NOTHING to pay their $33,000+ annual per capita tax to OPEIU international.
Same will be true when they append AMC Check Airman onto the Local 108 union as a subordinate "committee".
Interestingly, OPEIU's appointed oversee'er is the same person who's been there since PHI went into Trusteeship the first time, and who remains an oversee'er now. |

be in another union with helicopter pilots again helicopter pilots are just not class and labor conscious and have no concept of solidarity. works great for flying a rotor machine in combat or at some end of the road job. not so great in civilized world/industry environments. ends up in drama drama drama, nothing ever gets done but the talk and promises are nonstop, in short total horseh*t for which i have zero tolerance. |
