Some people would rather work close to home for less pay than go away every other week.

Some people would rather work in a job that they like and would accept lower pay to work with people they like.

Some people are not working pay check to pay check and can retire to HAA as its provides the fun money.

A few on here always complain that HAA sucks and the pay is low and... and... and...  I think you winers are the minority.

And the useless union will continue to fail to successfully negotiate a contract for its members.

Time to look at voting the union out.

The union is the only thing stopping AMC from forcing you to do work overs. Your life would be mutch worse without the union.

I dont have a union and I'm not forced to do workovers... oh yeah, my pay is about 25% higher than it was with AMC too. Good riddance to that company. Where I'm at now has plenty of issues as well but atleast I dont have to listen to all the toxic union gargbage.

Sounds to me like you're Guardian and went from AMC to Metro. Welcome to the Metro family!

You guessed it. In all fairness I had zero problems with AMC, good managers and people as far as I dealt with. The toxic union/company relationship is just exhausting.

Atleast the Union is doing a solid for inexperienced pilots coming on making more money than pilots that have been there for years. Good job.

Forced workovers are a myth

Forced workovers are a myth

That all depended on your local management. My program would not, repeat-would not force workover coverage. A sound manager is also a good leader, inspiring those overseen to more and better work, even if the extra day was straight daily rate compensation. Or maybe I was just a sucker...?

Some other programs did compel coverage, directly or indirectly. Whatever- the contract fixed that, overtime days became an inviting opportunity. I never, ever had to compel anybody to cover an open day and usually had volunteers from other baes.
