I'm lucky to not need top pay as i'm independantly wealthy. I want to work in HAA and would rather find a company that treats it's pilot with respect over anything else. So what company has benefits besides pay that makes them the best employer in the business. |

AMC is a constant challange. Sh*t rolls downhill and company fights the union at every step letting pilots know what is thought of them. Pay is average. Renconditioned like new helmet and boots supplied. Metro is 'BIG BROTHER' on steroids. You are recorded all the time and will get calls for making a turns to avoids birds enroute to patient. Currently lowest pay (I know money don't matter). Choice of new helmet at 50% off retail. MTC let's you do your job for the most part, but will issue you a 20 year old helmet with a disgusting skanky used liner, (you will be berated if you ask for cleaner helmet). However they currently offer the best pay. (Just bring your own helmet and boots). |

Oversight is minimal and for better or worse you are left alone. If you don't need a manager constantly over your shoulder telling you what to do, you'll be ok. The downside is other crews/bases can turn flights for just about any stupid reason they choose and they will never be called on it. I still don't know how bases/pilots can turn a flight for the most asinine reason and then watch as another company ship comes into your area and takes that patient with zero problems and not be embarassed. Anyway, there are other downsides to PHI but I'll let you figure those out on your own. Oh, and you're on your own for boots, although you could always just wear sneakers as no one cares. Helmets are a mix of new/refurbished. (In case anyone actually cares about such a trivial thing) |
