Anyone who trained with him can still hear him screaming nose straight! RPM! RPM!
Fanstatic place to learn as a civilian! Touch town autos both day and night. Real world stuff in those Bell 47's. I did a private add on there in 1984 and a commercial add on there in 1986. 12,000+ hours now in helicopters.
What an experience. Too bad there are not more civilian schools like that one around today. |

Did an IFR add-on along with a double I. Ole' peg leg. Pulled up at the A/P terminal in an old beat up station wagon with the gas pedal stacked with blocks so Richard could reach it. (won't let me post the word D**k) His first words, "Git In!" They foamed half the windscreen to simulate IFR in an Enstrom that had half the gauges missing. Nice folks. The trailers were so dilapidated, would wake in the morning with snow all over my pillow from the window leaking. But $1999 got you two weeks in the trailer with the two ratings. |

Had a Phd in psychology. Would really mess with your head.
Would love to go through the experience of flying with him again. |
