About 8 years ago a local shop committed to one at the expo. Received it some time later, used it about a week, and declared it to be garbage. It just got parked on one side of the hangar and became the place to pile up whatever needed to be in a pile.
So what's the story, from somebody who is working on them? Are they garbage? Were they garbage, but now are great? |

I heard the same thing, it was a MTC base in TX that tried one out, they had welds break in the first month and the company wouldnt fix it so it was parked. Sounded odd to me, they are nice but twice as much as a heliporter. Boston Medflight has a few of them and they have had a few gear box issues and were going to get a local machine shop to make a replacement part vs having to get a whole new assembly. |

On a related note; is the Tug-A-Lug still around? We bought one back in 1979. It worked well on our Jet Ranger but you had to be careful about placing the lift stantions on the cross tubes. |
