Make coffee every morning for the murse and the medic. Figure out how they take it and make it. You'll never get fired. If they take it black, make a black joke once a week. Medical types who drink black coffee need that.

The only regret I've got is I didn't go airlines when I had a chance.  

EMS is an easy job, but most pilots who have problems will have problems wherever they go.  The med crews do an amazing job and one I would never want to do.  

Yes, I would do it again.  

As much as I loved my job in HAA, the every day beating of stress caught up w/me.   As much as I loved flying, & having the time to reflect, I now realize that I made the right choice in hanging up my helmet.   Not many folks do what we do & I have fond memories of all of it.    ( and not so fond )

I don't understand everyone hatred of med crews. I understand there are some crappy ones out there. But I have been flying HAA for 9 years and never had a problem. I've worked HBS and CBS and always been fine. The few crew members that are jerks, I ignore them and keep my space, and these individuals always worked themselves out of a job. Sorry, but the pilots that constantly HATE med crews are the problem. Go in with a crap attitude, they are gonna treat you like it. Stop quoting 91.3 all the time and work together. Put the ego aside and your life at work will be cake. My 2 cents...

if you are a professional pilot, the job will drive you nuts. Most of them behave like spoiled children and they have huge egos. That's the reality at most bases. Be nice to them and be professional of course, but if you think for one second you are "part of the team" you are probably wrong: you are only the driver, which is fine by me. I don't care because I figured this out long ago. 

I make good money and it sure beats being an offshore grunt or flying a line all day. I'm pretty lazy, I'll admit it but I take every flight I can. The med crews have no problem turning down a flight for any reason and they will try to get you to be the one to do it. The biggest drawback for me is nights but I've had worse jobs.

Except for the idiot pilots who think they are gods and have a hard on for power. I've met 2 HAA pilots in my career that both expressed how much they hated med crews. Both didn't last a year at my base.
