The summer of 1980 Bristow in Sabine Pass had 4 HU500s remaining, and were sold to an operator in South Amercia. As part of the sale we installed and plummed 50 gallon fuel drums in the back for the range they needed.

And that as far as I know were the last 500s to operate in the Gulf. Please correct me if you know of others.

I thought they also had a few Cs.  Leftover from Sabine Offshore    Plus the odd Sa360

All of those were gone by the summer of 80'. These four were the last remianing.

were a real PITA to re-pack on all 500's but nice little "sports car " to fly around in!! E model was my favorite, 530FF just dumped raw fuel out exhaust all but RR250-C30 made it out rageous!

MH Production flew one of the ex Bristow 500Ds until 1989 out of Sabine Pass.

flew a D on fixed floats in the Gulf on a Shell oil contract for High Desert Helicopters..
