The topic of showering while on shift has come up. We are in a hot area of the country and after one call we smell bad. I admitted to showering quickly after a call and while one pilot agreed with that tactic, the other two jumped on me about it saying it could lead to delayed lift times.

Do what makes you feel good. A 3 minute shower will delay you about the same amount of time as taking a dump. Go for it.

It's been awhile since I've posted. Left AMC 4 years ago after years of being a community based pilot and Regional Relief pilot. Do not be a slave to a launch time schedule. If you get a flight request, do your planning, and accept or deny the call. The B.S. of launching in 8 minutes will get you and your crew killed. Those who think otherwise have not walked in our shoes. Management gives two ducks about your safety. The grass is greener on the other side. Fly safe

AMC does not have a launch time.

Take one every 3 days and conserve water. 

Guys are living in a bubble. Who FREAKING CARES. Get off all your high horses and do some real work for A change.

There is never an easy solution to these problems.    Too many types of personalitys.  Do what you need to do, & let the crew do the same.  Document it all.

The Med crew disagrees with me as well. Yesterday I shut off the water heater and put a lock on it. Now we can have it their way.

Take a french shower. A lot of the pilots around here are French, or French Canadian.

Just shower with a hot nurse, if you have one.
