InFO 23003, Terrain Awareness and Warning Systems (TAWS) Nuisance Alerts, is now published.
This InFO serves to inform operators about the risks associated with distraction and complacency brought about by routine use of the TAWS’ terrain inhibit feature. It is also intended to ensure operators understand the importance of having procedures and training for the use of the terrain inhibit aural warning switches associated with nuisance alerts.
The InFO can be viewed by downloading the attached .pdf files or by clicking on the following link, https://www.faa.gov/other_visit/aviation_industry/airline_operators/airline_safety/info/all_infos/

Me. Since our company is also a 135 operator every machine has a TAWS and when my heads out the door that is just more stupid noise.
More times than not I never turn it back on for the ferry flight at the end of the day. |

There is a pilot with encephalitis who claims that TAWS or HTAWS cannot possibly distract a pilot. Stick your hand up encephalitis guy. |

anything slowly gets ignored right up to the smoking hole. A109 low height alarm could not be silenced the scepter by pulling the low RPM cb. Incredibly annoying when working high density airspace. |
