So since PHI has been losing at least 1 mechanic a week here in Houma recently, what is the plan, the big picture? Apprentices are NOT the answer for all that EXPERINCE walking out the door. |

It's an industry wide issue. Maintainers can make more in the airlines or at the plants AND be home at night. |

just add a few more managers, vp's and directors to the payroll, that'll fix the situation. |

Haha. Current management does not know how to retain anyone. Because they don't care about their most important assest. The experienced employees. The ones doing the work to bring in the revenue. They say, "Hey, don't like it? There's the door." |

Its a game they play. The herd needs to be thinned out according to the pencil pushers so they can hire lower paid mechanics. Its done all the time in business. Once you have topped out in pay, they have to start looking for ways to get rid of you and since mechanics are a dime a dozen as far as they are concerned, your days are numbered no matter how long you've been there or how great an employee you are. I've been told to push guys out the door before and if I wanted to keep my job and be able to feed my family, thats what happened. As the old saying goes, "Thats why tool boxes have wheels". |

PHI has lots of mechanics that have been there for over 30 years so I guess every 30-40 years they put the big plan in motion lol |
