Still being used today everywhere.  Unfortunately with these complex ops at night, crashes happen.  Anyone who has been stationed and flown there understands.

It all got started at Ft Campbel, KY.  All of you should pay homage to any pilot who served at the Screaming Eagles.

Says the individual who wasn't there, isn't privy to any more information than the rest of us, potentially has zero experience operating the type aircraft in that mission in that profile. How about we let the investigators review everything and tell us what happened before hanging all 4 pilots out as screwing up?  In the meantime, 9 people who were either doing their best or learning how to do their best are dead.

Considering the fact that less than 10% of the posters in JH have any military experience of any kindn and about 10% of those have aviation experience, almost anyone posting on this subject wouldn't have a clue about what goes on in a UH60 during night training.

When I was on active duty, I remember reading about the flight of 3 60's that ran into a flight of 2 60's at Campbell back in the 80's or 90's. In a corridor at night (not tactical). My Safety officer shared some of the details about it. Nutty stuff happens in the military. I was in Iraq in '05 when 2 60's ran into each other over Mosul at night. It happens. Plenty have happened and it will happen again for sure.
