401k contribution is typically capped at your base salary. I.e. let's say I had a $100k base salary, they will match 3% of that for $3k a year. If I get a 3% raise I get the same $3k a year (taxed) but every raise I get after that will compound, not to mention a 3k raise raises my hourly rate which all my OT is based off of. |
