Kind of like "retention bonuses" aren't available to ew hires either! And AMC has one coming up just for existing pilot's who met the retention criteria.

Change to FW...it's all about the need for FW. RW never has nor never will be as well, but it's stable. FW has constantly shifting supply/demand changes and the work is monotonous (for some). |

Hard to show loyalty to a company who doesn't reward loyalty. All pilots should be getting a retention bonus. Still has to be cheaper to pay retention bonus to long term pilots every 2-3 years vs hiring/training new pilots at +$20k a pop. Why give more loyalty to a company who obviouslly doesn't give a rat's arse about you. |

I remember the big one culling the longer term pilots just so they could hire pilots paid half their wage. Did it through observation, fussy complaints, and flight checks. Longer the period of employment the tougher the check rides and observation became.
Lot like back in the late '60s - 80s when there happened to be a ton of helicopter pilots available. |
