So this is for all the pilots that like the company they work for. What little things could the company do better  to make you like them even more? Anything from work boots provided to newer aircraft?

Get RID of med types running an AVIATION Company. That would be a huge start to fixing things.

The small things do make a difference. $100 a year for boots, a new or reconditioned helmet on new hire with the ability to have it serviced every couple of years and a jacket and gloves.

MTC does give a helmet but it is usually a 1980 recycled model with 10 year of sweat and crap from the previous owner and lately the Nomex jackets are a nice touch.

Metro provides boots and allows you to purchase a helmet at 50% off, and pay the balance on payroll deduction over 12 months. Hospital is required to provide jacket.

AMC provides both and boots, the helmet is a decent gentex re-conditioned model that looks like new. The jackets are basic polyester crap.

Actually, you get a leather jacket at AMC. It's in the CBA I believe. Your base lead pilot has to ask the Area Manager to buy it for you. If you're a national float then your assigned manager does it (I heard they're the worst about dragging their feet about it as they're not sure you'll stay so they stall the longest). Get a new flight suit every year. Just have to ask.

From the 109 website link to contract:

"One jacket, suitable for the local climate as deemed by the Company or Customer. Such jacket shall be ordered on behalf of the Pilot by the Company within thirty days of orientation or placement in a new program. Replacement jackets shall be ordered within thirty days of a Pilot’s request to the appropriate manager to replace a unserviceable jacket."

I'm astonished that some professional pilots don't own their own helmet, etc.

I liked the Gallets the company provided so much that I bought mine. Light, tight, fairly easy to customize and works well with NVGs mounted. Winters, when the helmet is stiff, donning it is a task.

The first jackets AMC provided were good leather flight jackets, mine still looks good 15-20 years of service. I don't know what the company provides now- I understand that the union is weaker. But, I wear nomex jackets when I fly.

I am astonished that military pilots don't buy their own helmets, let alone their own bullets.

Oh yah, the employer not matter who they are.  They are supposed to supply you with what you need, and it's your responsibility to keep it in good working order.

I can't believe in this day and age people think that we should foot the bill for companies, you don't see fire departments making fire fighters buy their own air.

Metro will actually provide you with a Flight Suit, or Boots, or a Leather Jacket (or fabric if you want) of equal value, once a year. The helmet thing still is correct.

Good crap people, just about everyone of ya said some type of equipment or apparel.  Really?  That's the 1 thing you would change?  You guys must all be workin for perect companies.  I know my company could show a little more loyalty and appreciation to their pilots.  Offering sign on and RETENTION bonus's to new pilots, and offering no type of retention bonus's to the pilots that have been with them for years, and often hiring NEW pilots at higher starting pay than the company's own long term pilots who have been loyal to the company and who have saved them new pilot turnover hiring costs over the years.  Where's the appreciation??

to stop sucking up to med types.  Their culture is disastrous to aviation.

Two pilot IFR machines with ice capability.

Hangars on all operations.

Managers with brains and Human Resources given the boot.

Nothing else will approach fixing the constant carnage.
