There should be an age limit in EMS just like there is in the airlines. Med Crews are clueless fools getting in the back of the helicopter with some pig these pilots. Who works 50+ years and still can't afford to retire? And compete idiot. |

All EMS pilots undergo training and certifications to ensure they are proficient and qualified to perform their duties safely. Age shouldn't be the sole determining factor in assessing an individual's competence and ability to perform their job effectively.
As for the comments regarding medical crews being clueless and pilots being "some pig" and "compete idiot," such derogatory language is not productive. |

who the idiot really is? Is the old guy telling you he cant afford to retire after 50 years? He's likely pulling your young chain and you dance for him. Is his continued employment stopping you from working? I doubt it. Do you have to climb in there and fly with him? If so, then who's the clueless fool here? If not, then what's it matter?
I'm not old enough to "retire" to start drawing SS, but I could stop working. All of my properties have been paid off for about 10 years and I paid cash for the last two new vehicles. I started my "official" work career at 16 and 50 years of working puts me at 66, still shy of my full SS retirement age. I could start drawing earlier, but I'm sure as hell not going to do it just because a whiner would like me to. If someone asks me about retiring, I tell them "I can't afford to retire". Sound familiar?
I don't think your guy's age is your problem. |

Pilots getting hired day with bare minimum skills and experience wouldnt even have their resume glanced at 15 years ago! Automation isn't saving anyone, look at the uptick in incidents and accidents again. |

I tell you what I do know. A lot of military guys with huge egos coming into ems to "save" lives and don't have the ba**s or the common sense to say no.
Oh and stumbling during the oral on check rides |

Bro, I can retire with plenty of money. I am building a 401k so I can retire with even more money. My company wants me to stick around. Nice try on the troll. Young guys don't want to work. The have crappy attitudes and not a tenth of my experiance. |

Arsonal is a combination of arsenal, and arson. An arsonal is a secure structure where arsonists and their equipment can be stored. |

I make 120k+ a year "working" 14 shifts a month...2,300 a month from the VA and 4k a month Military retirement. I dont need to work but I enjoy it.
I dont fly after 11pm and barely during the day. And if I stroke out during a flight I'm ready to go and we are going to our great reward together so have your bags packed! |

Calling out old Balz a bit. The 120 K a year seems real. The 2300$ a month VA unless you worked for the Va and did a 2nd retirement must be a disability. Is maintaining your medical any problem? The $ 4000 @ month military retirement is possible if you retired well up in the O ranks but my understanding is you can't draw a disability from the VA and have full retirement benefits available to you, it becomes an either or scenario. I bet your a joy to work around. |

rating is greater than 50%, you can draw both at the full amount. Less than 50%, the disability amount is tax free from your military retirement pay. |
