I personally turn down any flight where the dew point is or is forecast to achieve a 2 degree spread. Is this pretty much normal across the board For you guys too? |

Ever take winds into consideration? Honestly unless the local TAFs aren't calling for fog, I'm going, while leaving myself a way out. |

I'll be less exposed if I turn down these flights. The company can eat the losses. They won't fire me they need me. Plus im basically a Maverick So relax pops. |

You just defined your work ethic. Pops learned long ago to do the best he can do at everything; not take the easy road. You'll go far with this mindset, son. |

Yeah. When I flew HAA, I had medcrew that took only the dewpoint spread into consideration when discussing the possibility of fog formation. So I taught a class at the next base meeting covering types of fog, how they form, and all the variables one should look at in hopes of making them more comfortable by showing them that a close dewpoint spread doesn't necessarily mean the helicopter's going to stop running and fall out of the sky. It went about how you would imagine. I was new to HAA and naive at the time. |

fly in my area. Temp/DP are stacked together more than 300 nights per year. But you do you. |

You must have finally just given in to the medcrew standards of "temp/dewpoint spread... guess we're not flying" despite all other logic regarding what the weather is also doing that could negate any fog/precip.
Just log it on the weather turndown sheet that medcrew declined, though. |
