So a question for you folks who have been through the Special Issuance process. I'm one of those guys whose medical got reviewed by the folks in OKC, who then sent it to DC for final signoff and my return to flying. |

Don't know about DC but I have been on a yearly SI approved by OKC for several years. On average it takes 8 to 9 monthes every year for the final approval. Like many Government agencies the Aeromedical Certification Branch is understaffed and overwhelmed with work! |

they called it a "branch" but it's now called the Aerospace Medical Certification Division. |
