I left EMS a few years ago. Buddy was telling me they're offering huge bonuses to come back and fly EMS. I kinda looked around I was curious what's going on and I thought I'd venture over here to the old just helicopters forum. What do I see but a thread about Med crew reading a checklist. I remember that crap 7 years ago. the hospital my wanted the Med crew to read the checklist. What a joke! This is exactly why I left that crap industry. Be a pilot it's your certificate

you are not an airline pilot. you have never flown ems, let alone had a hospital tell you that. I doubt you have ever flown a helicopter. am I close. 

I bet I have more time in the two minute cool down then you have flight time

R-22 doesn't have a two minute cool down buddy. He probably flew RR/Allison engines. 

121 guy you need to get with the times. Talking about 7 years ago!? The ems industry is in its prime and medical crews must be treated with the respect a crew deserves. That means they will read checklists whenever it is required of them. Including non memory item emergency checklists! 

We are punishing the past for its incompetence and moving into the future! How about you lead follow or get out of the way. 

so the 121 guy's good buddy tells him about the big bonuses that, at the most, wouldn't be a quarter of an airline pilot annual pay so naturally he comes on JH to tell us about the time "the hospital" told him to use the med crew on the check list and his reponse is stf u to the med crew. lol also enjoyed the "be a pilot" thing

That is the only industry a medic or nurse's opinion of a pilot or mechanics job performance has more weight than the pilot or mechanic. Yes, it's just that screwed up. Probably always will be. Pat yourself on the back if you survived it. 

No their opinion doesn't matter more than anybody else's but if you scare them or pi*s them off, there will be consequences, same as any other job. If you have a problem with one, chances are that person likes to cause trouble and it will be mostly ignored. If you pi*s off two or more, you are probably done. It can be difficult at times, but it's an easy job that pays good.

doubtful there will ever be aircraft carrying passengers without pilots, especially in ems.

 The silliness from the medical crowd has always and will always be the mainstay at JH. you really weren't surprised were you?

reading a checklist can be a distraction but I just did it myself after they read it anyway just to make sure they did not miss anything - aka still totally my responsibility, not theirs cuz they have no legal skin in the game.
