It really is a shame most pilots aren't using the CREW as a crew. My people are proficient and professional at their trade, which includes aircraft crew as well as medical crew. 

As an aircraft commander and PIC, all I ask is they obey my word as if it were the word of God. Inside the aircraft that is. Once we are at the base on the ground the Nurse is the boss. I do all the cooking And we eat as a team.

You know what's great about the airlines?? My FA's don't try to tell me how to fly my airplane. They usually listen a whole lot better than med crews did. Med crews should stick to patient care!

Not to mention, med crew ARE NOT "crew members."  was settled by the FAA years ago.  If they were, they'd have some say in the "operational control" of the aircraft, be required to follow crew rest requirements, and be subject to safety sensative position drug testing requirements!   Just saying.....

Yep!  The FAA has "ALL" legs of a flight with the med crew on board are to be conducted under Pt 135.  Hence, they are not crew members, they are passengers.  Try making someone sitting in 1st Class, Business Class or Cattle class read the checklist.  Better yet, try making a flight attendant do it!

The Med CREW likes that I have them read the checklist. We are working on EP post-memory items checklist usage. This is CRM at its finest. ONE MIND ANY WEAPON! 

What happens when they make a mistake? Maybe they get distracted and fail to read something to you, it's a critical item (they all are, that's why it's on the checklist) and someone gets hurt or you damage the aircraft?

The investigation finds out you had a non-qualified person performing YOUR duties....the insurance investigator also discovers you failed to do YOUR job...and the awyers find out...especially the lawyer for the med crew peron you assigned the task they weren't trained or qualified for.

I understand your 'humble' attempt but I still suggest you not compare your authority with that of God; can if you want but you're definitely closing yourself down to input from people who are at least aviation aware.  Just disagree with the state of mind you choose to operate within, for your sake and that of others.

As stated earlier, there's serious liability in doing that.  You were not told to do that during your Indoc and your CP should not be supporting that either.  You're risking your own certificate; if something happens and you tell them that was your personal SOP to have them read you the checklist you will still be at fault for a missed step; not them.

It may make for warm fuzzies making them feel part of the crew and them helping you "not miss anything, we're a crew, one-team-one-fight, yada-yada-yada" but don't do it.  

During "simulated IMC training" in VMC conditions when returning to base there's nothing wrong with having them "back you up" in reading the IMC procedures or in general if discussing some form of simulated emergency and you want them to read the checklist to you, but in actual operation of the aircraft it's YOUR responsibility.

Well dude, obviously you are not a pilot. Single pilot use of the checklist is DO, VERIFY. You are trying to reference two pilot operations where they use a CHALLENGE, RESPONSE. 

a med crew will shotgun read the checklist as it means nothing to them. It would be like you reading a protocol to them while they are trying to do something. Not happening.
