I understand that the new Dallas PD Bell 407 donated by the Perot family is now in service. How does Dallas PD like it?? |

Yes a GX. It was dontaed over a year ago. Due to COVID supply delays and the first completion center going out of business during the completion (Force Aviation at KRBD which was across the field from the DPD Air Unit), it was finally completed by Aero Brigham in Decatur. They have pics of it on their FB. The first 407 Dallas PD had 10 years ago or so they couldn't afford to fly and they sold it and were left with 2 206B's. Hope they have better funding this time. |

Yep...we're in service with it now. After completing our training in the 407GX, we're now completing our NVG training using the 206 this week. The EPs to include autorotations to the ground are handled in the Helicopter Institute Bell 407. It's a great ship for our mission. |
