Been at the airlines for a few years. I do miss the helicopter flying Just not the paycheck. because of that I fly utility on the side on my days off. It's easier than ems and powerline utility keeps me sharp. Easy money and I get all the fun I want while making the bucks at American Airlines, whoops, I let that slip! |

Took me a while to respond, I was at my crash pad in the Caribbean on layover. Damn they make good mai tai's here. Risk is in the eye of the beholder. It's worth it to me. That way I can remember where I came from. Bravo Zulu bud. |

about every 90 days when Im enjoying time off from my $300k per year senior airline pilot pay Ill rent an R22 from a local flight school and go practice low G and low rpm recovery just so I can stay sharp. I like feeling sharp. |

Thats pretty cool you found a rotor outfit that will let you work on random days off. If I could find a company that would allow that I would make the jump to the airlines today. Only thing keeping be from doing it is knowing I'll probably never get to hover again besides renting a r22 once a year. |
