support/reliablity from Leonardo SUCKS!! SIkosrky killed itself W/D model. Over priced way behind on deliver date, got Honeywell PO'd at them & went W/crappy avionics. |

Arkansas Childrens has D models - single pilot. Miami Childrens, C+ dual pilot. Monroe County, FL, C+ - single pilot. Palm Beach County, FL, C+ single pilot. Cleveland Clinic, C++, dual pilot. Survival flight had an A something or another a while back.
Theres probably some I missed but I think that's about all. |

Vis is no problem if you gave her some left pedal on final. Great EMS bird, fast enroute and nice when taxiing around planes near the fuel farm. Did a decent job at scenes as long as the snow wasn't too deep. |

OP, no harm in asking on JH. But, if by chance you are new at an HAA outfit that flies the 76, try asking the other pilots their opinions. You might be surprised at how much 76 knowledge is right under your nose 😉
That being said, as the other poster above mentioned; left pedal when safely able is beneficial for visibility, vigilance is required during ground ops due to 6 degree forward tilt of main rotor system, all the weight of the aircraft on the 3 contact points of the landing gear can lead to sinking in on soft terrain, snow, etc.
Its a dinosaur airframe but very sorted out by now. Plenty of power, plenty of range, plenty of tail rotor. The autopilot is excellent also and the entire platform is great for long distance IFR flying.
All in all I'm a big fan of the 76 but I'm a dinosaur too..... |

3000 hours in it. I prefer dual pilot, singl pilot ok but there are situations best left to two. Good EMS with a trained crew. Long IFR flights no problem. |

Flew C++. Single pilot can be very busy but managable when things go wrong, at least in the level D SIMs. |

No doubt a favorite for those who flew it for years. All the pluses mentioned by other posters. The one drawback is the big footprint on legacy rooftop heliports unable to accommodate mgw. Gets a little dicey on scenes in rough terrain, but probably the best interfacility, long range aircraft.
This day in age is price point and product support. Igor got outmaneuvered by an industry that pushed a sportier, more practical size. The euro designs have all shapes and sizes for your operating budget. The 76 died with the dog model. So bad so they stopped production. There was also a gag order among the test pilots about the issues. C++ are selling way under value. D is less user friendly, expensive avionics updates, and just not a favorite.
If the H160 ever comes to fruition, the 76D will become a museum piece. |

I believe it would be a good idea to have two pilots now. |
