I know Metro has no premiums. But what are the deductibles like. Are they super high because of no premiums? |

True no premium but if you don't take the option you receive more pay. Sorry I don't recall the amount. so isn't that the same as paying but in reverse.

Metro has a $1,500 deductible which is reimbursable (you earn $125 a month towards the deductable). I generally just wait till the end of the year and file my claim all at once for the $1,500 total. You may claim monthly if you wish (or any other time period quaterly, semi annually etc.)
If your retired military (Tricare) or us spousal medical benifits, the company will pay you an additional $6,000 a year to not use their benefits.
The company pays 100% of the premiums and no money is taken out of your paycheck. |

That would mean a 11,500 pay raise just in insurance savings alone. There is a metro base that I'm watching for an opening that is next to my AMC base. A pay match and the insurance savings now has me very interested. |

Thanks for that info. I was wondering what Metro does for disability insurance? I'm sure they have short term and long term, but how long does the long term disability last? 3 years? 5 years? Until reaching Social Security full retirement age? Do they offer loss of medical insurance? |

Metro offers short term disability and pays 100% of the premium. It pays 66.667% of your salary after a 15 day waiting period ( would use one week of vacation time, your off week counts towards the 15 days). Short term runs for 90 days.
Long term, Metro pays 50% of the premium you pay the other half. Again, pays 66.667% of your salary. Covers loss of medical up to 28 months. |

I miss my Metro Insurance..... Went to a corporate job. Now I pay $160 a month, deductible increased, and in network is 80/20 vs the 90/10 (I think) at Metro. |
