Just wetting my feet in this industry. Soloed last week!

my question is, since I was born in Colorado, will randoms still be held against me? We basically grow up sprinkling Mary Jane on our toast here. This is a deal breaker for me. It's my right here in CO!

hire you or fire you if you test positive for a drug they don't approve of. Forget about ever smoking weed again if you want to fly commercially.

Aside from any state law pertaining to the use of marijuana within a state, it is important to be aware that the FAA's regulation [14 CFR § 120.33(b)], expressly prohibits you from performing a safety-sensitive function for a certificate holder while having a prohibited drug, which includes marijuana and marijuana metabolites, in your system. If you are a pilot, a verified positive drug test result for marijuana on a required DOT/FAA test will make you unqualified to hold an FAA-issued medical certificate.

You have a decision to make. Keep on with the Green, or trade it for the Blue Skys. You can't have both.

Might be a good idea to decide sooner rather than later, as I'm sure the cost of instruction isn't getting any cheaper.

I live in Colorado and don’t use any drugs. MJ or otherwise. BTW…. hallucination mushrooms are also now legal in Colorado. Where do you draw the line?

If you want to be a pot head go do something else. There is no place for that kind of crap in aviation.

At least at Jiffy Lube if you leave the filter or drain plug loose somebody will get a new engine.

Regardless of what the states say, marijuana is still illegal in all 50 states per 21 U.S. Code Subchapter 802. The FAA and pot don't mix.

Be a pot smoking private pilot and have an incident/accident and see what happens to you. Do you have an issue with pilots, mechs, ATC personnel being subjected to drug tests? Those are the rules. If you don't like the rules, change them or look for another line of work.

private pilot and were stoned, unlikely anything would happen to you. if you smoke and weren't high and had an accident, nothing would happen to you. nobody has to submit to a drug test but then again, nobody would ask you to, either.
