I just got the King Schools catalog in the mail and noticed the FAA Part 107 Drone training they offer. Have any helicopter pilots made a career out of Drone flying. How did your experience as a helicopter pilot transfer. Are you making a decent living?

What Drone piloting options are out there for someone looking to retire from HAA?

Just get the current FAR/AIMs, Pt. 107 isn't all that long covering drone ops. If your an active pilot with annual check rides etc. just take the PT 107 writ as an add on. Several free sites to practice the test. King schools website is one of them. Pt. 107.63 (a)2 - Issuance. Pt. 107.74 - Small UAV aircraft sys training.

ask for info on how to become a drone pilot, he asked if anybody is doing and what there experience has been.  It seems like very few people even read the questions on here when you read the replies.

I just let him know he can save a bunch of money by doing it himself instead of a school. I know what he was asking.

To finish the comment......The company was updating their drones, sold him the older model and he lined up a gig doing real estate videos for $500 per session.

is a lot drone footage can detect ref: ag crop condition but need appropriate sensors and collection capability.  For the compensation potential it seems worthwhile.  Go BIG or go home when it comes to implementation of newer tech.

started an aerial survey business just as all this got started.  Still going, making money and having nh fun as his side gig to HAA.  Least it gets him away from all that HAA stuff.
