If you look closely at the map, the aircraft is over the water in the deepest part of the river. They are using it as a high dive platform for divers to do incredible high altitude flips and spins while landing safely in the river. |

I go out there a couple times a week with my PBR and watch them. It's pretty impressive to watch the entry into the water. |

That was the second hardest thing I ever did with a helicopter..Measured, marked, and installed balls on a 5000 ft span crossing the Mississippi, moving water, moving boats, and moving wire. Poor lineman had elbows of steel and kep saying "in,in,IN,,IN damnit, right before the line took off. Took a while for that wire to settle down enough to re-engage...but we we did get it done eventually |
