Why in the world would the FAA let a large company have a D.O. and C.P. in a FAR119 position with no ATP?

And you all want airline money?!?! It’s hard to stifle the urge to laugh. Yes it might not be required but it sure is nice to know that a pilot cannot get any further / more / higher ratings. You all talk out of both sides of your mouth way too much.

or enforce the regs. How many FAA inspectors do you think have an ATP? The answer is very few.

As an FAA employee I would say 95% have ATP's.

That's because 99% are ex airline pilots. I've had to interface with dozens of FAA People over the years. They had responsibilities regarding my helicopter company. Only about 10% had helicopter experience, of those only one had civilian helicopter experience. I doubt there are many helicopter ATPs in the FAA.

If the operation requires ATP certification in it's crews, then the leadership should have at least that same certification. That's the standard.

it, the pilot that takes the effort to get an ATP may not necessarily be a better pilot because this ain't brain surgery we're doing but it shows initiative and drive so anybody that says they're no better anybody else must be envious because why the hell else would you say that. it's not like the ATP guys are strutting around showing everybody their certificate. if you could just show up and hand over some money and get an ATP every pilot out there without one would be lined up out the door begging for it.
