How many Ec145 C2 eLites are out there. How are they working out as IFR platforms in HAA? I'd like to drop in and see one in person on my next road trip. At what locations are they in service? Thanks in advance for responses. |

Airbus hates the Elite.
Nothing saying awesome like taking out a great autopilot and setup, change it to something cheaper and no where near as good. |

Don't bother AirBus contact Metro direct most are located at Metro bases of course although I believe Med Trans has at least one or maybe two I agree not as well liked as the factory autopilot but what's the alternative if your in the market for a 145 you'll pay many millions more for a new H145 but a lot nicer with 4 axis and improved performance because of engines and transmissio, and biggest problem with EC 145 would be the VARTOMs solved by going FADEC |

This has been covered here before, just like a week ago. But anyway...
The e-lite is a descent design for what it is. Is it Garmin quality? Not at all, but Garmin has had decades to perfect their systems. The Genesys system has a lot of potential to be very good ONCE all the bugs get worked out of it. Right now there are a lot of bugs and the support system for it currently (at Metro anyway) is not there. There are some "gotcha's" with the system that could cause problems if you're not familiar with it but all in all it's not totally terrible. |

Dare county has one. Admin is super proud of the shiney new helo that the taxpayer money bought, but the mechanic told me they had a lot of problems with it right out of the box. He did not mention electronic issues, but rather he said they had a lot of vibration issues with their ship. |

They have a couple of them and keep trying to take them IFR but the pilots keep grounding them and refuse to fly them IFR. The autopilot is crap and does random and unpredictable things. |

Ok for VFR, I will not take it in the clouds as the autopilot has a mind of it's own.
Like others have said, it can do uncommanded and unpedictable things in the air. |
