3 types of night time for flight / pilot...
Lights = Turn on Sunset to Sunrise,
Logging = The end of evening civil twilight to the begining of morning civil twilight
Currency = Sunset +1 hour to Sunrise -1 hour
If your GOM requires day only maintenance flights, when can you start or when do you have to quit flying for maintenance checks? |

u r talking about. past sunset it's night for them, check the gom, it's in there. if there is no night flight allowed then they don't let u fly past sunset. why do you care? it's their aircraft and their money. just do what you're told and collect the paycheck and stop trying to change the world. you will not succeed. |

is regulations are quite stringent guidelines not to be crossed. That said if you land five minutes late on a Maintenance check flight and the company hammers you have a go at them for being unreasonable and if need be get a lawyer - tie them up, they'll drop it with a warning. Than fight the warning alll the way. Don't let helicopter management push you around. Be prepared to go very far to get them off your back.
Had a company do that over something so petty JC himself could have committed the transgression. They don't like me and I don't like them but I get the job done. We tolerate each other, which is fine with me. |
