Had a colleague, former B-17 pilot turned engineer, who worked on nuclear power for the B-36. Never made it to a flying prototype, but amazing stories. |

Well, that is true. The Peacemaker carried no jet fuel. The turbojets burned the same avgas the six big radials did. |
