Is vacation a right or a privilege? If it is a right, it is something that can be imposed by the employee. If it is a privilege, it is something that can be denied by the employer. |

When you work HAA you agree to work 7 on and 7 off. You get vacation that you can schedule xx days in advance to be sure you get the time off. (xx varies from company to company but is usually 60 days). If you need a day or three off within 60 days you should try and find your own coverage through a trade or find someone who will work OT and you lose PTO. You shouldn't come in on Monday and say you can only 4 days and need Fri,Sat and Sun off. Thats not who this job works and your co-workers suffer for that. |

Vacation, your opposite (HAA/HEMS) has to cover your vacation days. Then, when he wants vacation, you have to cover him. Unless your company is big enough to have a relief pilot. Even then your opposite will end up covering most of your days off. So, in essence, you don't really ever get vacation. Not in HAA/HEMS. |

Note that the lying manager doesn't say what it is. He just denies what was described truthfully. If the lying manager knows so much, he would explain. His lack of explanation is proof he is a liar. A weird liar at that. Weird that he thinks his denials will convince anyone, lol. Lol, lol. Lol. |

We used to have "Area Pilots" to cover any open bases, but those Area Pilots are now Airline Pilots. |

If its requested 60 days out, it's a right, with some exceptions. |
