Is an unsuccessful mast moment incident code for a hard landing? I've seen guys have mast moment incidents where a kneeboard moved the cyclic on the ground. I'm trying to imagine how a windshield and blade gets damaged because of mast moment exceedence, more than likely the mast moment was exceeded due to...? |

First off, SOMEBODY doesn't know what they're talking about. A "DENT" in the M/R blade indicates F.O.D. and a "crack" in the windscreen could possibly be related to the incident. NEITHER of these corrolate to an MMI exceedance. PLUS, MMI exceedance can only happen if the aircraft is on the ground. Better start looking for the "crap" that was sucked up into the rotor. |

Just my 2 cents worth.....but, it would take an extreemly hard landing or very low rotor rpm for that to happen. Normal operating RPM, not a snowballs chance. |

An excessive mast moment incident actually requires inspection of the blades so it's plausible the "dent" was blade damage as a result. |
