Just got a call from Metro offering 2k sign on, 5k retention and 20k hard to fill on top of the 72K base for an EC145 spot. I wish the base pay was higher as those stipends can go bye bye anytime.

The base at year 5 will be 70k unless you get an IFR checkout and then the 2k will be paid. The initial 72k is really 70k plus 2k after IFR transition.

Unless you are a brand new to EMS pilot with very minimal time. Ask for more! Metro will negotiate with you. $72k is about what I started at more than 5 years ago.

Let's watch and see how that No Suprises Act impacts GMR,,,,,they are out of network, just like Air Methods in many cases,,,,,,there's going to be many base closures,,,,,KKR isn't there to lose money.

By negotiate, he means you could get 73 or 74.  Metro will credit prior EMS time, but nothing else ... 10000 hours in anything else but EMS gets you nothing

I thought ALL of GMR was offering the $82-93 starting range!  So is it just AEL that's offering that range?

Dude, if they're offering you less than $80 BASE SALARY you need to take a hike... i.e. you are part of the problem accepting low salary!!!!  Go to AEL or AMC!!!  ESPECIALLY if it's in a 145 (you'd have to pay me more to fly that stupid bird).

Why not? There is still a pilot shortage. Even with 18 base closures, AMC still has over 150 pilot openings. only way to attract and keep people is with money.

to go thru 2 checkrides a year isn't worth it to sit across from a egomaniac instructor that wants to stump the chump....and not realize your a pilot, not a private pilot....

I hit over 100k was in mid-80s, corporate, NYC area.  No clue what they pay or how many are left.  OK area to work but ya can't live in the city or close.

Wonder what top corporates are paying down there now?
