How much do you guys think you should get paid?
Lets hear it.
I'll go first, between 100-130k. Any Part 135 flying job. CP 150k base up to ten aircraft. Over that increase to 150-200k.
Utility pay commensurate with the destruction of the home life via a traveling schedule. Pay the boys according to sacrifice, if you won't pay according to revenue. |

The pay shoots up EXPONENTIALLY over the coming 5 to 20 years... helicopter pay DOESN'T. It goes up INCREMENTALLY and then STOPS.
Can't compare apples to oranges...
Remember when JustHelicopters used to have the pay scales for various companies posted? They don't want you to know the truth anymore. The majority of the airlines have theirs posted on airlinepilotcentral.com
Come on in, the water's nice:). |

30 years in the civil sector. My base has gone from 20k to just over 115k.
Lost income over the 30 years is probably about 3-5 million.

I have enjoyed my helicopter career and don't have any regrets , but if I had to talk to a class of future aviators I would recommend fixwing as a professional career and rotor as a hobby. |

agree.
Helicopter work is tough on families unless you can do a loooong time with one company (preferably corporate - think money and benefits) and live in one place or area.
Working for the airlines tends to be pretty stable in most senses excepting time away from home.
When ya get to retirement I guarantee you will look at what you have accomplished for others. Good luck with that. |
