if somebody had only told them they might have to go fight some useless war somewhere, the kids would be tougher and all would pass that seal thing which btw seems like a big waste of time

I will rephrase it:  If you go into Seal training thinking everyone gets a trophy, it probably won't work out too well for you.  Yes, wars are senseless and useless and the people that have to fight the war didn't start the war but it seems to be part of human DNA. 

I wish you younger guys were taller.  Everything us old guys say goes right over your heads ! ( that's a softball for a millennial response) !

think it's a waste of time when in the middle of nowhere facing a 6'8" 290lb ugly gorilla with a huge knife.  That's what the military does, confronts the enemy, and hopefully comes out alive to go on and do more of just that.  It's a tough job, especially mentally and spiritually.

Really?  If you think it takes a do o uche to be a SEAL try imagining why only about 20% of our young population qualifies for military service - usually too fat, some sort of criminal background, or just plain too 'unaccomplished' to qualify for selection.

Being in the military these days requires ability, smarts, initiative, training, and responsible action.  If ya can't cut those qualities ya need not apply and there May here some on this forum in this group.
