Free tax money like those government HAA operators do (even though they are public aircraft)?

Free down-flow revenue that the HBS operators do (jacking up prices everywhere else on patient)?

Free donation money like those "non-profit" do (openly soliciting handouts from the public)?

Free grant money from the Government, like those hospital conglomerates do (money for construction of infrastructure/equipment/vehicles)?

AMC charges what everyone else basically charges, except in the case of AMC, they aren't getting it from all those other sources disguised as "free"?

You are being overcharged everyday by those other HAA operators, and you haven't even USED their services yet!

This article cracks me up. This article is from "confidential sources," aka, leaking info to get changes made to the NSA. While yes, the NSA is a problem, it won't be a long term one for AMC. They  are in-network with most insurances, and the only ones holding out are Cigna and Atena, which will eventually become in-network too. Everything they listed is temporary and will be just fine in the end. Record flighs last year, on track for another record this year. Companies always scream doom and gloom when they didnt make as much as the previous year.

Now, any companies not pushing hardcore to go in-network with insurances are doomed. NSA act means nothing if you're in-network. This needed to happen and was overdue. Government just forced EMS greedy hands.

I get dismissed when I bring this up, as if "it's just you dude", and even have had my posts removed when I bring up this subject, but this accounts for AT LEAST 30-50% of the "missed flights":  MEDCREW not being "comfortable" to fly near supposed "weather".

The following examples are for non-mountainous, non-swampy conditions, and local flying area:

1) Temp/dewpoint are within 4 degrees but winds are above 10 knots and the forecast shows 10SM + SKC (i.e. ZERO chance for fog) and the medcrew say they're not company because of what they were told at indoc "temp/dewpt within 4 always equals fog".

2) Weather is P6SM BKN 018 at night and TRENDING UP and they don't want to take the flight due to "wx".

3) They see ANY cloud in the sky while flying and start "worried talking" about the weather and hint they don't want to do anymore flights the rest of the day/night.  Then when a flight comes up they say they're not comfortable based on what they saw (despite all airports in the green, zero blue on HEMS Tool, and the TAF shows no impendig weather).

The No Surprises Act may well be the catalyst to start an education campaign for medcrew to learn what legal AND safe weather is.

I can't even imagine the MILLIONS of dollars that are lost due to this...

Stay in your own lane. Your weather education campaign to med crew is a fools errand.

The weather already. More than a pilot, more than a forecaster, more than a meteorologist. Almost as much as a global warming expert.

it's going to get a lot tighter with the recession not only officially here, but functionally as well.

Amazon downsizing is a reasonable mirror.  Check it out.

If you have a job and feel it is somewhat recession proof, probably ought to keep it.  If you are spending large right now, best cut back and save for a period of unemployment, job search, and moving.

Not sure this is the time to jump to go anywhere, even the airlines although there has never been better apparent conditions to do so.  Lived through a few of them and for sure being conservative about spending is the watchword.

People grouse about a mortgage rate of 4.75%.  Really?  Shortly after WWII rates were higher than that.  In early '80s they were up to 18+%, ours was 16%.  Is what it was and it can all go back there as well.

Anyone know about inflation and recession proof helicopter jobs?  That'd be a trick!
