I'd be willing to bet to be part of the NASA astronaut selection pool for this mission the prerequisite would be black and female, no other ethanticities considered. Kind of like Biden requiring the next supreme justice to be a black female (Ketanji Brown). I'm sure they are all competent candidates but not the best of the best anymore.

For once I agree with you on this point you make.  The issue I have is the prequalifier that they must be this or that to be considered.

If they are, let them earn it on their own.  There need not be any affirmative action in place to assure the seats are filled by such and such.
