For the number of hours you will spend in the truck, the pay is really quite low. Trust me, I've done it. The job is horrible.

Go ahead.  No more sitting for 10 hours to fly 2.  You don't get to turn down deliveries because its snowing two states away.  Or down the truck because the seat doesn't recline the way you want.  You won't last a year.

you are making very little and often nothing. You will earn every time truck driving makes you scratch and claw for. If you worked as many days flying as you WILL DO driving, you'd make 200k. No exaggeration. Those guys are really seriously underpaid. But by all means, give it try! 

about it.  Know a fellow who drives for them.  

and you don't have to buy a helmet.

you buy a helmet. even the smallest of operators. if they require goggles, they have to supply you with a way to use them.

You don't share helmets. Been to a lot of operators and unless GMR is doing it, nobody is.

Your references check out, your a lazy employee who not only bitches about everything but finds every opportunity to not do any work.  Unfortunately, your current employer is going to have to continue to deal with your lame excuses as your union continues to protect your crappy performance.  Best of luck you in your future endeavors and to you employee who seems to be stuck with you.
