Don't like unions but I have worked for MTC and AMC and having the union is far better In my opinion. 109 does a good job. only union that actually cares about more things than the dues. Plenty of programs to get back that money and they even have all the memebrs dues back for a year.

I've work non-union, non-manditory union and all union in EMS. The last place I worked was non union but were in the process of organizing. The pay and benefits were very good and but management could and did screw around with you. You had tlittle choice but to just smile and take it. You are always better off with all union. ALWAYS.

Contract Instructor Pilots at Fort Rucker back in the 90's made the same pay as the Regionals ($20K or less?) until they unionized.  They now make $97 starting with amazing benefits... not advocating working at Fort Rucker but just another example of a union working out well for the employees.

PHI offshore pilots were making 35K even in the 2000's before the union. pay almost doubled immediately. you may soon hear that was all just coincidental though as PHI was going to raise the pay regardless for reasons.
