How blind are some of you. We are in an historic moment for heli pay to change drastically and what do many of you do? Whine like little crybabies with hurt feelings and bash everyone else! Look at the regional airlines! They were living on the poverty line for YEARS! It wasn't until the pilot shortage hit them when pay FINALLY changed. The rotor world is experiencing the same exact thing! The difference, the regional pilots united and supported each other. What does this group do? Brag about the raise they got and immediately start bashing other companies/ unions. I'm an AMC guy, and when I saw what GMR did, I was excited and happy for them. GMR did the same thing the airlines are doing right now. They one up pay, then AMC follows, then metro, then Phi, then GMR ones up everyone again, then AMC, then metro and phi. It's a leap frog effect that TRIPLED the regional airlines pay in only a few years. All based on the SAME pilot shortage that we are experiencing right now. The saying, a rising tide raises all ships, means we ALL benefit. So for gods sake, stop freaking bashing each other over nothing and work together!! Grow up. WE WILL ALL BENEFIT FROM THIS. Okay, rant over Laughing

are correct.  Only very real problem is too many geographically disparate bases disallowing in person pilot comfort with solidarity.  This has to be provided by Union leadership, somehow.  That's the nut hat has to be shelled.

If anyone thinks regional airline pay wasn't a total disaster until now they'd be mistaken.  Even helicopter operators had them handily beaten but no more.  We are truly at the bottom of the barrel in the overall compensation arena.

When benefits, pay, and schedule are good enough to attract qualified people to a vacant job, it will happen.

It's nice to see pressure going the other way for a change.

truth in that.  Globalization benefited Financial Services Industry like crazy, folks got to buy cheap labor stuff, US moved to being a service industry, make less than before but you might be surprised what we still do.  Just gotta look it up.

The reality is some companies will follow suit eventually, some will not. The mini *Bob Suggs" (relax mods, Guy died long ago, but infamous for the way he treated pilots.) running yel/blk has said they're not chasing market wages.

I'm truly happy for the rest. I started when the wage was 25K/yr. finally you're getting paid for the risk and can support a family.

I give Yel/blk two years max before it's a footnote in the EMS industry, a lesson in "what not to do".

I hope AMC comes around. Our program just went to Metro and I received about 15% increase in pay over what I was making at AMC. Add in not paying union dues, and the company paid for health coverage and I'm really up about 20%. Nice to finally feel like I'm getting a fair shake. Hopefully these companies will continue to push eachother to increase pilot compensation.
