Did the mosquito control contractor in Palm Beach County (FL) go out of business? COVID get them? I see their Huey on Barnstormers for sale. At first I thought maybe they just switched to fixed wing, like Dynamic Aviation over in Sarasota.... but then I saw that the county put the contract out for re-bid, so I am guessing something else happened. |

From an operational stand, that makes sense. Easier to find pilots. Probably lower operational costs. I guess the county went with a re-bid because changing the aircraft changes what they are paying for. |

Likely not, I haven't seen the bid specs, but they are typically cost per acre in aerial mosquito work. At least they should be. |

Palm Beach County does a flat fee per year - not a per acre. So switching to a cheaper platform keeps more money in the company coffer. |

Looks like an aerial flight was recently done, but flightaware show no flights for the HUEY around that time.
