GMR's significant bumps in pay are mainly through incentives not salaries. Incentives are easily turned off after a market correction. Enjoy them whilst they are there. I feel keeping an eye on the no surprises act status is a good idea and perhaps more import to consider when making career moves. GMR's, and other HAA subscription based programs, are in jeopardy. They will, more than likely, be unable to sustain the pilot and mechanic pay increases when the act passes. Nobody knows the final outcome as the act is still in play. As a fellow HAA pilot, I am concerned that the company I work for has a business model that will survive the act's fallout. The HAA industry is overly saturated. The majority of revenue comes from insurance providers and Medicaid. Subscription based HAA business models, like GMR's, will be in trouble...goodbye incentives.

Ive been in this business since the mid 80s when a 206 transport was around $600.00, now they're over 60K and not going down, I didnt think this business would have lasted 20 years, I thought the insurance companies would have pulled the plug, but who am I? But we're not at that point I guess to put a price on a human life, but im retring in 2 yerars, Good Luck!! |

True. The 14% is not an incentive but brings their lagging pay up to the rest of the industry. The rest however, such as the 40k retention, 15k sign on, 5k IFR, geomods, housing etc...those are. |

The suprise bill act was already made into law and went into effect January 1st this year.
As for your other BS comment. GMR gave an average 11% pay increase. That sound like salary to me.

The vast majority of increases were in fact double digit when you look at your previous years vs this years compensation. Retention bonus aside, the salary increases were quite healthy. |

majority of HAA flights are not emergent or medically necessary. The oversaturation of the HAA industry has caused hospitals and EMS to be totally spoiled out of convenience. Hospitals want the 85 year-old with ingrown toe nails out of the ER yesterday and EMS outfits see HAA as an augment to not having to drive somewhere i.e. leave the county to a facility or more appropriate one. HAA outfits are like circling vultures. It is an "If we don't fly it, someone else will" mentality. |
