Panicking and the latest email falls on deaf ears. Companies WITHOUT Unions are getting the raises But one of the largest Air Med Unions can't even force a hand to get anything or inflation bonus Or sit at the table. Your welcome for our dues that we pay for????? 63 days as you said. Do your jobs and force their hands. Sad indeed the fake leadership |

Only reason AMC has any power right now is all of you trash whiners who can't get hired anywhere else and they know you can't leave, so they are still filling seats. Used to be the mil guys who killed this industry and now it's all the tour and gulf pilots who have no business being here are will whatever to keep a job they are not qualified for to begin with.
I guess Southwest and Delta Airlines has a weak union also according to your principles? |

Self-Help is outside the contract. Union demanded it bargaining for a new contract. That froze the current contract. No offers "outside the contract" is authorized under STATUS QUO, at least not until NMB releases parties to self-help.
You put your fingers in that socket and didn't understand how electricity works. Sorry! You asked for Section 6 negotiations, company smartly asked for mediator to get through the process quickly, and now you are whining.

is rewarding them for their sacrifice now with this new "bonus".
Meanwhile, union is in Section 6 negotiations that is asked for, putting them in Status Quo. Was pilots getting an inflation adjustment bonus at that time? No. Is there a CBA Section calling for company to pay bonuses? No. Is there an expressed management rights section giving company rights to manage their company? Yes. Did pilots not get other bonuses paid to medical staff in the past?? Yes.
Seems status quo is just that!
Has union written NMB asking for a fixed negotiation session date yet? Have they gotten a reply? Seems the NMB is dealing the cards at this point. Focus on them!

Work action is the only way to bring the company to the table.
Case in point, Spirit airlines. For years the pilots had a contract that was barely better than the regionals. Company refused to negotiate in good faith. Pilots started calling out sick and stopped picking up extra trips. So many flights got cancelled it made mainstream news; cost the company millions.
What did the government do? Wrote a limp-d&ck letter to the pilot union saying that they had to go back to work because they were violating the RLA.
In the face of losing millions, Spirit agreed to a new contract that nearly doubled pilot pay. Rather than waiting 2 years for a nearly useless mediation process with the NMB, the pilots had the balls to burn through sick days and stick it to the company. |

Well, yeah, you sent them Section 6 notice which immediately put them into STATUS QUO. Status quo in the RLA means they cannot suddenly offer you changes, bonuses, side deals, etc, during bargaining.

because the Union could likely claim that they are doing it to adversely affect negotiations. That's why the LAW demands STATUS QUO (ie, nothing changes) once Section 6 notice is served, from either side!
It also means, for instance, they cannot withdraw their shift incentive bonus either, unless it specifically indicated in the founding documentation it was temporary and for a specific period. |

If you think GMR has a leg up on AMC because of no union, I think you would be wrong. For many years AMC led with pay and all the non union companies follower. Now that AMC is in a bad way financially they struggle to increase pay because the shareholders will splitt and make things worse. GMR was losing tons of money for all the bases that were not taking flights due to pilot shortages. Right now GMR is the place to be with the new pay increases. Soon the other companies will catch up and it will be business as normal.
GMR announced 14% increase (11% plus usual 3% annual) in next check.
$5000 bonus paid end of July for current pilots.
$35K more to be paid through Jan 2026 if you stay with GMR.
Stipends for training, float, strike teams etc from $3500-12000 per year.
High cost of living / hard to fill payments and more.
If you hire on with GMR you get a $15K sign on payment and if a GMR employee recommends you they get $10K
I'm looking at a 25% increase in pay this year which will stop me jumping ship at the end of next month. |
