Just look at what our industry has devolved too.

We have an industry full of weak men.  Both from the military and the civilian side.

It is only going to cause more problems and cause more death, due to fact that we wont change our culture.

Look around the room, who are the "leaders" would you follow them into battle or a fire or IMC conditions.

There are sub par pilots, with sub par attitudes, taking the industry into a sub par non professional area.

Just in time for drones to step on and take our jobs.

You guys take this whole flying thing too seriously. Plug the identifier in the GPS, and land. That's it. Act like our job is super hard or scary.

I mentioned a while back, we had a hire that could not plan and execute a VFR flight into Class B airspace.  That indiviual had an ATP rating and was IFR "qualified".  It was to depart a controlled airport and in the next 30 miles get clearance inside the Class B for an approach to an airport followed by a VFR departure to another airport outside the Class B.  Gave the individual over two hours to plan and review this one, one and a half hour flight.  Basically, the feedback I got from here was that the flight was too difficult and one should not expect success on such a challenge.  Lucky for us, he eventually chose a different career path and went off to the HEMS world.

Pretty hard to believe I get it.  But when you're cruising along and have no idea how or whom to contact for entry into Class B much less the phraseology to use (who you are, where you are, what you want, info blah) it's obvious there is a training issue.  The sectional shows which freq to contact approach, the Garmin did as well.  Even ATIS stated "contact approach..."  They eventually diverted into an uncontrolled airport outside and eventually said basically "they just didn't have it today."  It's not like something you couldn't get in five ten minutes of preflight note taking either.  But go on and believe they don't exist.  I know what I saw and the replies here are probably the same reaction I might have had.  Why did I popint out ATP and IFR rated? To show the level of designatoin given by someone.  Had they been just a a private pilot, the scenario would seem more logical.  Nothing more.

A&P mechanics have a way harder more difficult job than pilots hands down, the average pilot flys the recliner in the pilots lounge.

You all missed the point.

We have weak men, who lack abilities, lack integrity, etc bringing down the industry.

You all can keep saying your not my bro, yah I want to follow someone into IMC... but the truth is it shows how stupid you are.

No one said VFR into IMC... it was meant to be, you should be IFR proficient.. which many of you are not.

Just like the leadership question.. That is why HAA is terrible and Utility is headed that way.

Think how many people on here complain, but do not offer a fix for the problem.

I expressed my opinion, need better pilots, better attitudes, better skills, get rid of pilots that can't fly.

Have standards the people have to reach for, not settle on.
