Paying new hires $20,000 more than a 15 year emloyee is betrayal and despicable!!! until the pilots are willing to accept a short term sacrifice things will never go our way! I promise that if pilots stopped picking up workover and started using their sick and vacation time the contract will get ratified much faster and more in our favor!! |

New hires at AMC with no experience and time at AMC are getting annual bonuses of $20,000 a year that they are contracted to get for theri entire time at AMC. Startig base pay is $73,808 PLUS $20,000 =
$93,808 STARTING for NEW HIRES WITH NO EXPERIENCE!!!!
Thats a current AMC pilot who has 18 YEARS with the company!!!!
Talk about DISLOYALTY and SCREWING over your committed workforce. Maybe thats why so mamy pilots are leaving AMC and going to GMR and METRO.... |

If a base has a hard to fill stipend, every base pilot gets it, no matter how long they have been there. The thing is that in a multi base program, one base my get it and one may not. |

Half of the problem. When a base pilot goes on vacation, the remaining pilots are assumed to pick up the uncovered shifts. Some when that pilot returns, and another base pilot goes on vacation (or training away from the base) it is assumed that the retuning pilot will pick up the lion's share of the open shifts. In essence, you get no vacation, because you have to work your normal days off to repay your vacation days that were covered while you were gone. There should be a base relief pilot, so that the assigned base pilots can all get their vacation, sick days, bereavement, and whatever else. Stop filling in for open shifts to "repay" for your entitled vacation days. |

I live in an extremely expensive area but the hospital is in the one crap town so Accra is crap. Kind of have to do OT so I can feed my kids. AMC wins. I already plan on leaving soon for a 50% raise. Can't wait. Would rather stay if AMC would at least give a 40% raise. But we all know that's not going to happen. |

42 years ago we made today's inflation adjusted annual compensation of $158,000, in the oil field, overseas of course. Few serious helicoptter pilots went to the GOM. Horrible place to work and live. |

Me. You have to fly on a normal day off to get 1.5x. But 1x only trades for that day off, and you are no better off giving away that day off. That leaves the .5 to get you ahead of where you would have been had you done nothing. Really, to buy back your whole day, it should be 2x. And that is a measly buy back of what you could have done with that normal day off family wise, or side hustle wise. Wise up mr. 1.5x broke guy. |

I agree 100% that bringing in pilots with $20k sign on bonus is total bullcrap, dispicable, complelty wrong ,however, part of the problem is the union contract. The company cannot legally bring in pilots at a higher pay scale, so they started bonus which the current union contract says nothing about. I agree using more vacation and sick days to screw over AMC is awesome. But, this also brings tons of leverage for the union. You want to bring in pilots with $20k bonus...? nope! Bring everyone's pay up first, 20% raises across the board, take away sign on bonus and respect the pilots who have been here for years. AMC knows they are coming to a crossroads come Aug. They screw over their current pilots, prepare for mass exodus, sick outs, and strikes. I'll be the first one on the strike line. At least in my area, managemnt as been told very clearly how everyone feels with these new people and current pay. |

Pick up one day of workover other side of the country. Book yourself a long layover and drink at the airport bar on the company dime.
Have a good time. Make a few extra bucks, and if they're not gonna give it to you. help them give that money to someone else. |
