First movie except for the flying scenes was pretty lame. Maverick would have been kicked out of flying long before he even got close to a F14. Story line was horrible. Even real Navy pilots thought it was terrible. |

The difference between you and Navy Fighter pilots is they don't wish they could fly helicopters. Navy helicopter pilots were wash outs like Army pilots but with a degree. |

up a Cobra crew one night from a road SW of Phuoc Vinh, VN after they got shot down. The AC voluntarily swore he'd never make a bad claim against Huey pilots again. Cracked me up. Told him that was ok cuz I flew snakes my first tour and didn't believe him. Flying slicks in VN was a far more diverse, delicate and difficult life than guns, far more productive too. Navy fighter pilots? To each his own. Never developed that interest. Stay happy. When ya need a ride outah hell it'll be in a helicopter and I bet the pilots don't care who you are or what you think of them, they do it anyway. Always did, always will! Perspective helps.
