Look at it this way. Currently ALL PIC's have to have min.1500TT. So no low time pilots are responsible for  any of the previous accidents,Eh?

H3ll the  "poster boy" for KLM B474 crash that killed 583 on Tenerife Island was not only hi time BUT safety Officer too.

Just saying that the past shows that ALL pilots CAn make errors. Not sure what the min should be set at????

As long as the pilot fits in one of the DEI boxes what difference does it make.

There are good pilots with 750-1500 hrs.  And there are bad pilots at 10,000 hrs.  Its not just the hours and exposure that makes a good safe pilot.  More importantly in the long run, its attitude, ego and judgement.  We have all flown with both types, good and bad.    

if we lower the minimums to where they were 9 whole years ago, both pilots will be bubble gum chewing 18 years olds. 

Your statements are all correct of course, but that does not change that the average 1500 hour pilot is more mature and settled then the aveeage 750. There are exceptions to any rule but when you're talking about hiring thousands of people over the next decade, you need to obey the Law of averages.

It really cracks me up when of all places Wal-Mart is training their own truck drivers and paying them in the 80K range!  Also, an article came out yesterday that Wal-Mart is now going to train college grades to become store managers and pay them 200K a year!!!!  Why put up with paying all that money to learn to fly, get paid crap and then oh ya, just lost my medical...can't use that 100k aviation training in anything else!
