I saw what I thought was an EC135 depart the local hospital today but the tail looked differern. Does the newer model EC135 have a different tail or any other. Changes?

A BK 117.

Mesersmidt Bokow and Blum (German company) Made the BK117 In the 80s. They were later purchsed by airbus who added finestron and changed the nake to EC135. Still plenty of BK's as they are often called running around.

EC135 Been around long time. The BK117 became Eurocopter 145 when Aerospaitle bought MBB.Then  Airbus bought Eurocopter spent $1m + changing Data plates to Airbus Helicopters, now AB145. Maybe you should do a little research IF you haven't been around the RW for a while eh?!?!

FYI: the BO105 was to be upgraded as a BO108 but it never went to production. After Eurocopter was formed the 108 became the EC135 and was certified as such. The BK117 is stIll a BK117 certification-wise with the latest variant a BK117D3. The EC145, EC146, and H145 are only marketing models/names. The OP probably saw a BK117C2 as the fuselage is similar to a 135.

In genera!, P3 has 206B3 engines, higher gross weight, better OEI performance, and different engine lnlets. Newer P3s have different avionics/cockpit layout. And a P2+ can be field upgraded to P3.

Yes, the tail design on the P3 is different.  The little extension at the bottom was eliminated.  the end plates on the horizontal stabilizer were also removed.  Not noticeable are the M/R blades.  They are a little bit longer than the blades on the other models.
